In 1994 a group of Christian leaders came together in Houston, Texas with a strong desire to bless their city with acts
of compassion and to share the good news of Jesus Christ. They decided instead of reinventing the wheel why not link
together so they could share resources, knowledge, expertise and opportunities.
Each church, ministry and individual would bring what they had to offer to the Somebody Cares network so that together
they would be so much bigger than they would individually. That is how Somebody Cares America was birthed.
The vision for Somebody Cares has always remained the same: to unite the body of Christ with the purpose of
transforming individuals, families, communities, and nations by being the tangible expression of Christ. The
goal is to equip, empower, and encourage existing ministries in our communities to do the work of the Lord -- making
a Kingdom impact.
Churches, ministries and citizens will come
together for the first time to say with one voice, "Because Jesus Christ cares for you, San Antonio, we care for you."
SCSA seeks to identify Christ-centered compassion ministries, prayer ministries, music ministries, sports ministries,
marketplace ministries, etc. that empower people to reach their full potential and become all that God envisioned when
He created them. By standing side by side with our neighbors, we help them reclaim their community. Visit Somebody Cares America
